Project Management Software for Tradespeople
Project management for trades is not Gantt charts. It is knowing whether the job is still the job you priced, and being able to show the customer the same answer you would give yourself.
The money position, always current
- Original project value, fixed at the accepted quote.
- Approved Additional Works, listed individually with their approval dates.
- Revised project total.
- Payments received, allocated against the amount due.
- Outstanding balance, calculated rather than remembered.
Balances are driven by the amount due after discount, VAT and CIS, so the figure in the app, the PDF and the Project Report agree.
Changes that stay attached to the job
Additional Works are created against the Project, priced, sent for client approval and recorded with how that approval was given. Pending work never inflates an approved total, which is what makes the running figure trustworthy at the end of a long job.
How Additional Works are approvedProgress and communication
Progress updates are sent from the Project itself, so they carry the current position rather than being written from memory. A secure Client Portal gives the customer somewhere to look instead of somewhere to ring.
What clients can seeDocuments where the job is
Quotes, invoices, purchase orders, certificates, RAMS, photographs and notes attach to the Project. At handover, the pack is already assembled.
Documents & NotesProject Reports
A branded Project Report summarises the position on a given date: progress, approved changes, payments and outstanding balance. It is useful at milestones, at completion, and any time a customer asks where things stand.

Frequently asked questions
- What does project management mean for a trade business?
- In practice it means knowing, at any moment, what the job is now worth, what has been approved, what has been paid, what is outstanding and what the customer has been told.
- Can Boksit manage ongoing Projects?
- Yes. Project Centre holds a job's costs, payments, approved Additional Works, progress, documents and reports for as long as the work runs.
- How are approved changes reflected in the project total?
- Only approved Additional Works affect approved totals. Pending requests stay visible but separate, so the revised total remains reliable.
- Can the customer see the project?
- Yes. A secure Project Portal link or branded Project Report can show progress, payments, approved changes and shared documents without the customer needing an account.
