Boksit is not accounting software. It does not file VAT returns or tax returns, run payroll, replace an accountant or provide professional tax or accounting advice.
How receipt scanning works
Receipts are scanned, not just stored as images.
- Step 1
Photograph a receipt with your phone, or upload an image or PDF.
- Step 2
Boksit scans it using AI-assisted extraction.
- Step 3
The supplier, date, line items, net, VAT, total, currency and a suggested category are read back.
- Step 4
The extracted details are shown for you to review.
- Step 5
Correct anything the scan got wrong.
- Step 6
Save the expense against the business or a specific project.
Where they are printed on the receipt, the receipt number, payment method and supplier VAT number are picked up too. Receipts can be scanned one at a time or in batches of up to ten, and anything still needing attention can be kept in a review queue. The full receipt text is stored, so receipts stay searchable afterwards, and possible duplicates are flagged. Receipt scanning reduces manual entry, but extracted information should be reviewed before saving.
